Jonathan R. Mallen, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Mallen graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of
Arts in Biological Basis of Behavior, where he competed as a member of the varsity ski team. He was among the inaugural graduating class at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where
he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Connecticut Health System, serving as Chief Resident
in his final year. He then pursued fellowship training in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta under some of the foremost specialists in the field.
Dr. Mallen is the Director of Skull Base Surgery at Capital Health, where he leads a multidisciplinary skull base surgery program in collaboration with neurosurgery. His
clinical focus includes advanced sinus surgery including complex revision cases, functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, endoscopic skull base surgery, the treatment of rhinitis and eustachian tube
dysfunction, and the full breadth of head and neck care. He has been published in peer-reviewed ENT journals, has received teaching awards for his contributions to resident and medical student
education, and is a regular invited presenter at local, regional, and national conferences.
A native of Ocean County, NJ, Dr. Mallen and his wife Daina, a fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologist, are the proud parents of Riley and Jacob. Outside of medicine, he
is an avid soccer player, rock climber, and scuba diver, and holds an ELO Class B ranking in chess.
